Our philosophy
Since 1867, Passier has been making saddles and bridles with a standard that has not changed over the generations: to create products that reliably accompany horse and rider for many years.
For us, quality means more than high-grade materials or precise workmanship. Quality shows in craftsmanship experience that is passed on, and in decisions that do not follow short-lived trends but what proves itself in the long run.
This attitude has shaped Passier for more than 150 years.
Katrin Kannemeier-Passier, fourth generation
At the centre of every saddle from Passier is its most important component: the saddle tree.
It forms the basis for balance, stability and the fit of the entire saddle. That is why Passier has been developing and making its saddle trees for decades with the utmost care and to the highest quality standards.
A particular strength of our saddle trees is their flexibility. Qualified saddlers can adjust them at any time to changes in the horse. Because horses keep developing – through training, age, musculature or a change of owner. We believe a high-quality saddle should be able to go along on that journey.
To this day, our saddles are made in our own manufactory in Langenhagen near Hanover.
Experienced specialists work here with expertise and a trained eye for every detail. Many steps are still carried out by hand – from cutting the leather to processing and the final quality check. Every saddle thus bears the signature of the people who made it.
The decision to keep development and production under one roof is not a question of tradition alone. It allows short distances, the highest quality standards and the opportunity to continuously develop our products.
Dieter Manthey, Passier manufactory
For us, tradition does not mean standing still. For generations, Passier has continuously developed its products, combining proven saddlery craftsmanship with new insights from sport, anatomy and saddle fitting.
In doing so, we never lose sight of what really matters: the well-being of the horse and a harmonious connection between horse and rider. Our decades of experience form the foundation for this. At Passier, innovation arises from the ambition to always develop the best possible solution.
Passier is a family business to this day. We have been closely connected to equestrian sport for generations and know the demands on high-quality equipment from our own experience.
This closeness to the horse shapes our daily work as much as the close exchange with riders from a wide range of disciplines.
Every new saddle, every bridle and every detail is created with the aim of bringing function, comfort and timeless elegance into harmony.
Our values
These values have accompanied Passier for more than a century and a half and remain the foundation of everything we do.
We believe in products made with care. And in quality you can feel. It shows not only on the first day – but over many years.
