Soft, elastic, horse-friendly
Passier saddle panels are made of soft, vegetable-tanned German cowhide. Each panel is cut from a single hide, flocked with synthetic wool and lined with a soft latex insert – for a particularly elastic, horse-friendly bearing surface.
Passier saddle panels are made of soft, vegetable-tanned German cowhide. Even when the panel leather is cut, attention is paid to consistent thickness and quality. Each saddle panel, which consists of two parts, is therefore made from a single hide to achieve even stretching behaviour on both halves.
Our saddle panels are characterised by particularly generous wither clearance. Thanks to their special construction, the horse’s withers have sufficient room and contact with the saddle is avoided.
For a wider bearing surface, the panels are fitted with a gusset at the rear. This gusset enlarges the contact area and thus minimises localised pressure from the rider’s weight. The gussets are available in three different heights.
All models come with a gusset as standard. Starting from the normal gusset height, flatter gussets of −1 cm as well as higher gussets of +1 cm or +2 cm are possible – exactly as required for the fit on your horse.
Our saddle panels are flocked with a synthetic wool. Compared with natural wool, it has particular advantages:
Every saddle panel is lined with a soft latex insert. This beneficial insert ensures a smooth, soft bearing surface on the horse’s back. It also distributes the rider’s weight even more evenly.
These properties make our saddle panels particularly elastic and horse-friendly.
Saddle panels
A gusset at the front of the panel enlarges the bearing surface and helps give the saddle more stability on horses with a poorly defined saddle position. A front gusset is available for all models.
The Lifter panel is the ideal saddle panel for horses with high withers extending far into the back and/or for horses with a sloping back line or one that rises steeply behind the centre of gravity.
Thanks to its special cut, “The Lifter” panel gains height more quickly and, with its short, round shape, comes off the back sooner. The bearing width is increased in the area beneath the seat bones, so a low point in the horse’s back line can be compensated optimally.
This panel is also suitable for horses with a sloping back line, as it gains more height to compensate for the difference in the horse’s back and place the rider optimally in the centre of gravity.
The Lifter panel is available for all models.
Together with Eberhard Weiß, trainer in the classical art of riding and a man of the old school, we developed the saddle panel for optimum freedom of movement. In combination with the widened gullet plate, it provides more shoulder freedom and greater lateral mobility. The trapezius muscle can expand and the horse benefits from maximum freedom of movement. This panel is only available for models with a PS saddle tree.
